Bring supported KNX functions into your smart-home platform
Use the Super Gateway as the bridge between the KNX installation and a compatible Matter ecosystem. It is designed for projects that need coordinated access to supported lighting, air-conditioning, floor-heating and sensor functions.
Matter 1.6 support is confirmed by JINK for this product. Individual features depend on the supplied firmware, gateway driver and target platform; protocol-version support does not imply every optional Matter 1.6 feature is implemented.
The gateway does not make every KNX function available automatically. Device compatibility, control commands and status feedback depend on the exact equipment, gateway firmware, commissioning and destination platform. Agree on those functions before installation.
Plan the installation
- Review the project: prepare the KNX device list, existing project information, group addresses and required controls and feedback.
- Prepare the infrastructure: confirm the 24 V DC supply, KNX bus-power arrangement, Ethernet connection, DIN-rail space and compatible platform controller or home hub.

What is JINK Super Gateway KNX?

Can I connect KNX devices to Apple Home with this gateway?
Yes, supported KNX functions can be brought into Apple Home through the gateway’s Matter bridge. The available controls depend on the KNX device, gateway configuration and Apple Home support. Provide your device list and required functions before commissioning.
Which smart-home platforms are supported?

Commissioning and networking
What information should my KNX installer prepare?
Prepare the device list, KNX project and group-address information, datapoint types, and separate command and status-feedback addresses where the device type requires them. The configuration guide shows manual device entry and Excel-template import. Match each mapping to the actual KNX equipment and test it in the target platform.
Can I import an ETS .knxproj file directly?
The documented bulk-import route is an Excel template containing KNX configuration data, alongside manual entry of group addresses in the web interface. Direct .knxproj import is not documented. Use the template that matches your firmware and obtain the current template from JINK; Excel import should not be confused with native ETS project import.
Can it be added to an existing KNX installation?
It is intended to bridge supported KNX functions into a compatible smart-home ecosystem. For an existing installation, the installer should review the current bus topology, project documentation, power arrangement and required function mapping. A retrofit plan must be checked for that installation rather than assumed to be plug-and-play.
Does it use Ethernet or Wi-Fi?

Does it replace the KNX bus power supply?

Can I power it over Ethernet using PoE?

Will Apple Home show the actual device status?

Will every function continue working without internet access?

Web setup, pairing and maintenance
How do I access the gateway configuration page?
Connect through the installation’s trusted local network, find the gateway’s assigned IP address in the router’s device list, and open that address on port 3000 in a browser. The guide also describes custom IP settings under Port Management. Use your supplied sign-in details, change the default password during commissioning, and do not expose the configuration page directly to the internet.
Why have my configuration changes not taken effect, or why do example devices appear?
After adding or editing ports and devices, use Apply Configuration. The guide states that the KNX port is predefined and does not normally need modification. Factory example entries must be removed from the final project before applying the configuration, otherwise those examples will also appear in the app.
How do I pair the gateway and its child devices with Apple Home?
Complete the device configuration and set up a compatible Apple home hub first. For initial pairing, the guide instructs you to select Re-pair, wait for the pairing QR code to regenerate, then scan it in Apple Home. Allow about one minute, or up to two minutes for a large configuration such as 200 child devices. Keep your pairing code private.
Does Re-pair erase my KNX configuration?
The guide states that Re-pair refreshes the pairing QR code without deleting the stored user configuration. However, using it after successful commissioning requires the gateway to be added in the app again. Do not use Re-pair as a routine refresh or as the first response to a delayed child-device update.
How do I add or remove child devices after setup?
Add or remove individual child devices in the gateway’s web interface and apply the configuration. The guide allows approximately two to three minutes for the changes to synchronize to the Apple Home app. Allow that processing time before considering a new pairing operation.
Can I back up the configuration or move it to a replacement gateway?
Yes. The guide provides Export Configuration for saving the completed setup. It describes loading the exported configuration onto replacement hardware through the Manual Upgrade workflow. Keep the backup private, and confirm hardware and firmware compatibility with JINK before restoring it.
How are firmware updates and system rollback handled?
The guide distinguishes Online Upgrade for system-code updates from Manual Upgrade for supplied packages or configuration migration. It instructs a power cycle after the manual upgrade is complete. V3.6 also documents rollback to a stable state from seven days earlier. Is remote debugging available?
The guide includes a remote-debugging assistance function under Port Management. Enable it only for an agreed support session and turn it off when the session ends. Do not publish administrator credentials, private configuration backups or Matter pairing codes when requesting help.
