JINK PIR Motion Sensor
JINK MIR-IR500-MT PIR Motion Sensor
Camera-free passive infrared motion sensing for the routes people actually use. Place it at an entry, hallway, staircase or wardrobe area to give compatible Matter automations a clear motion event.
Motion becomes a quiet cue. The sensor notices movement; your compatible home system decides what follows.
Key capabilities
- PIR passive infrared motion detection without a camera or microphone.
- Up to 8 m listed detection distance and a 90° listed detection angle.
- Recommended installation height of 2.2 m, followed by a walk test.
- DC 3 V CR123A power with low-battery warning.
- 3M adhesive or screw-fixed support bracket.
Matter over Thread setup
- Set up a compatible Matter controller and Thread border router in the home platform you plan to use. One hub may provide both roles.
- Remove the battery insulation film and confirm the 3 V CR123A battery polarity.
- Open the current add-device flow in your home app and scan the Matter setup QR code printed on the product or packaging.
- Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds, then release. Follow the app instructions to complete setup.
Plan the detection area
Install where people are likely to cross the field of view. Side-to-side movement is usually easier to confirm than movement directly toward the lens. Keep the Fresnel lens unobstructed and test the real route after mounting.
- Listed detection distance: up to 8 m.
- Listed detection angle: 90°.
- Recommended installation height: about 2.2 m.
- Actual detection can vary with room layout, temperature, clothing, direction and speed of movement.
Mount with adhesive or screws
Adhesive: snap the product into the bracket, apply the 3M pad to the rear of the bracket, then press it firmly onto a clean, dry and smooth surface.
Screws: secure the bracket to the wall or ceiling with suitable screws and anchors, then snap the product onto the bracket.
Keep the sensor away from direct sunlight and rapid temperature-change sources such as air conditioners, fans, refrigerators and ovens.
Self-check and test mode
- After first power-on, the sensor enters self-check for about 60 seconds and the red indicator flashes.
- It then enters test mode for about 5 minutes. Detected motion makes the red indicator flash and sends a motion event.
- During normal operation, short-press the reset/test button to enter test mode.
- After a motion event, continuous motion may not create repeated events. About 1 minute without motion returns the sensor to its ready state.

Safety and care
Indoor installation only. Observe battery polarity; do not recharge, short-circuit, heat or burn the CR123A battery. Do not cover, paint, scratch or clean the Fresnel lens with solvent. Use a soft dry cloth around the housing.
This product supplies motion information for compatible automations. It does not replace a certified intrusion alarm or life-safety system.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot add the sensor: confirm the Matter controller and Thread border router are online, the QR code belongs to this unit, and the sensor is close to the controller. Hold reset for 5 seconds and retry.
- No motion event: wait for self-check to finish, enter test mode, remove obstacles, cross the detection area and check battery charge and mounting angle.
- Too many triggers: move the sensor away from direct sunlight, moving curtains and rapid temperature-change sources.
- Offline or low battery: check polarity, replace the CR123A if needed, then confirm the Thread border router and controller are powered.
Questions
Why can a second event be delayed?
Continuous movement may be filtered after an event. Wait for approximately 1 minute without motion before confirming a new event.
What is required for Matter over Thread?
A compatible Matter controller and Thread border router are required; one device may provide both roles. A Wi-Fi router alone is not a substitute for Thread infrastructure.
